Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary
The first in a series of three commissioned artworks as part of the new Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary, the project consisted of a series of digitally printed artworks for every bedroom in nine of the hospitals new wards. Commissioned by Dress for the Weather and Wide Open.
The work inspiration drew from the local area, and the view from the intensive care rooms to the back of the building, of forests, half hidden in the mist, and of ā closer up ā the tree barks, lichens and mosses that make of the close up detail of our woodlands. Designs were created by building up layers of transparent vinyl before digitally manipulating these for print.
