Dumfries and Galloway’s Remembering Together project is moving into it’s next phase this month as we prepare to begin the process of planting 400 trees across five locations to create a Dispersed Memorial Forest. t s and I have been busy behind the scenes working with a variety of site and community partners, alongside tree experts Nic and James at Treesurv to bring the project together.
First up, we’ll be planting in Dumfries – and for this location we have dispersed the trees over two locations at The Crichton and neighbouring NHS Mountainhall Treatment Centre (the old hospital). We’re planting nearly 100 trees across these two, beginning on Tuesday 27th February at the Crichton, and the continuing on Saturday, 2nd March at Mountainhall.
Information available via the flyer below, but get in touch via the project email rememberingtogetherdg@gmail.com, or via the project socials if you’d like to be involved.
If these dates don’t work but you’d still like to be involved in the project, we will be continuing to plant across the region in Castle Douglas, Stranraer, Sanquhar and Moffat over the next month and a half, until the tree planting season winds it’s way to a close.
